While working in Switzerland, I attended a Christian men’s group. One year while listening to a man, who exuded stillness and calm, I asked him, what I could do to deepen my faith. He gave me a question as an answer: “Are you cognizant in giving your talents to your heavenly Father when in the process of performing them?” I stared at him. I had no answer. I did not know what that question meant. I simply said “thank you”. I walked home, all the while thinking about the question.
When at home, some clarity came to me. I walked directly to the piano and wrote this song. It was one of the rare and real attempts to live the answer. I sometimes feel, in the attempt to try, that He gave it to me as a gift.
The song is sung by my daughter Calen, my son Lucas, and the piano is performed by Lisa my wife (my other son Andrew is also a wonderful composer).
